North Korea's provocations continued even after the armistice, with approximately 2,900 provocative acts up to year 2022.

The Homeland Reserve Force was activated on Apr 1st 1968 to cope with North Korea's provocations, such as the Communist Guerilla's raid on the Blue House on Jan 21st 1968.

The ROK Army adopted and improved on the U.S Army's system to build its own military system. Moreover, the dispatch to Vietnam in 1964 facilitated modernization of the ROK Army's units and equipments, and the Republic of Korea was able to obtain essential resources for economic growth.
